The Four Lunar Gates: New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon and Last Quarter

A complete four-phase lunar cycle for intention, action, review and release using accurate phase data and practical evidence.

Ritual Warning

These rites use planetary symbolism, solar and lunar cycles, elemental meditation and seasonal observance. Historical sources sometimes include dangerous fumigations, open flames, fasting, intoxicants, metallic compounds, exposure or claims that celestial timing compels events. None of those elements is required here.

No rite uses blood, self-injury, animal harm, toxic incense, lead, mercury, unknown herbs, dangerous fire, unlawful access, exposure to extreme weather or sleep deprivation. Every working may be completed indoors with ordinary household materials and full lighting.

Astrological timing may structure attention, but it does not replace medical care, weather warnings, travel safety, legal obligations, adequate sleep or practical preparation.

Every rite has a finite purpose, written start and end, practical action, review date and formal closure. No planetary, elemental or seasonal object remains permanently active.

Historical Background

Lunar calendars, religious observances and astrological systems have tracked lunar phases for millennia. Modern occult practice often assigns beginnings to the New Moon, growth to waxing phases, culmination to the Full Moon and release to waning phases. These meanings are useful modern conventions but are not universal. The Moon, Hecate and Gabriel belong to different celestial, religious and occult frameworks; this neutral cycle invokes none.

Historical and Textual Boundaries

Planetary ritual in Western occultism draws upon ancient astronomy and astrology, Hellenistic planetary doctrine, Persian and Arabic transmission, medieval image magic, Renaissance occult philosophy, grimoires and later ceremonial orders.

The seven classical planets are Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury and Moon. Their weekday sequence and planetary-hour cycle derive from late antique and medieval astrological traditions. Later occult tables assign colors, metals, perfumes, stones, divine names, angels and spirits, but these correspondences vary by source.

Elemental systems also differ. Greek philosophy developed theories of earth, water, air and fire, while alchemy, medicine, astrology, ceremonial magic and modern occultism reinterpreted them. The four-element model used here is a symbolic Western framework rather than a universal description of every culture.

Solstices and equinoxes are astronomical events. Religious and seasonal observances around them vary by region, climate, calendar and tradition. Modern occult Wheel-of-the-Year systems combine historical, reconstructed and modern festivals and should not be presented as one unchanged ancient calendar.

Each article distinguishes historical precedent, later occult interpretation and modern SatanWorld procedure. No formula is presented as an ancient quotation or recovered secret.

Purpose of the Rite

Use one lunation to move a practical project through intention, action, review and release. The cycle does not guarantee manifestation at the Full Moon.

Location and Preparation

Perform the rite in a lawful, physically safe place with ordinary lighting immediately available. Indoor observance is fully acceptable for every rite in this batch.

The operator should be rested, sober and able to stop. Weather warnings, sleep, employment, health and practical obligations take priority over exact timing.

Tools and Materials

Reliable local phase dates, one project card, four phase pages, calendar, notebook and ordinary lighting.

Ritual Doctrine

A complete planetary, elemental or seasonal rite contains a clearly named cycle, one symbolic focus, one ordinary action, one measurable observation, one review and one final closure.

The rite should correspond to actual conditions. A solar rite may concern visibility or daily purpose. A lunar rite may concern rhythm and review. An elemental rite may organize practical balance. A seasonal rite may mark preparation, harvest, rest or renewal.

No planet, element or season is treated as an independent command. Symbols provide structure, not inevitability.

The practical action begins before the result is judged. A Saturn rite includes scheduling or boundary work. A Mercury rite includes communication or study. A winter rite includes practical preparation and rest.

One complete observance is sufficient. Repeating the same rite because the experience felt quiet turns a cycle into compulsion.

Timing and Astronomical Accuracy

Where exact timing matters, use a reliable astronomical or astrological source and record the location, time zone and method.

Sunrise, sunset, lunar phase, solstice and equinox times vary by location. Planetary hours may be calculated as unequal seasonal hours or as simplified clock hours; the method must be declared.

Do not expose yourself to unsafe heat, cold, storms, darkness or remote terrain merely to match an astronomical event. Indoor observance is fully valid.

The rite may be performed near the event rather than at the exact minute when work, health, sleep or safety requires it.

Correspondence Discipline

Use one documented correspondence table or remain deliberately neutral. Record the source, planet, element or season, color or symbol, material used and whether the attribution is historical, later occult or modern.

Do not combine several tables and present the result as ancient certainty.

Ordinary paper, water, a clean stone, a fan, an electric lamp, a calendar and seasonal household objects are sufficient. Metals, perfumes and rare stones are excluded from this foundational batch.

General Formula

The cycle is named, the symbolism is bounded and the practical action is written. No planet, element or season compels an event. The rite serves attention, preparation and measured change, and it ends through deliberate closure.

This is a modern SatanWorld formula.

Central Formula

The lunar phases provide four gates of attention: naming, building, reviewing and releasing. The Moon does not compel the result. The project advances through action and closes through evidence.

This is a modern SatanWorld composition.

The Rite: Full Ritual Sequence

Step 1: Choose One Lunation

Complete this stage deliberately and record the exact action before moving forward. For Step 1, choose one lunation is treated as a practical instruction rather than a demand for supernatural confirmation. Note the date, relevant condition, and any ordinary factor that affects the result.

Step 2: Choose One Project

Complete this stage deliberately and record the exact action before moving forward. For Step 2, choose one project is treated as a practical instruction rather than a demand for supernatural confirmation. Note the date, relevant condition, and any ordinary factor that affects the result.

Step 3: Write the New-Moon Intention

Complete this stage deliberately and record the exact action before moving forward. For Step 3, write the new-moon intention is treated as a practical instruction rather than a demand for supernatural confirmation. Note the date, relevant condition, and any ordinary factor that affects the result.

Step 4: Complete the First Practical Step

Complete this stage deliberately and record the exact action before moving forward. For Step 4, complete the first practical step is treated as a practical instruction rather than a demand for supernatural confirmation. Note the date, relevant condition, and any ordinary factor that affects the result.

Signs, Results and Verification

A useful result may include improved scheduling, clearer priorities, renewed motivation, greater awareness of daylight, a completed seasonal task, balanced workload or a more accurate personal rhythm.

A striking dream, coincidence, weather change or mood shift may be recorded, but it is not proof that a planet or element issued a command.

The strongest verification is practical: the task is completed, the calendar is repaired, the room is prepared, the boundary is maintained, the project is reviewed or the seasonal transition is documented.

Record quiet sessions, ambiguous impressions and failed expectations as carefully as dramatic experiences.

Distortions and Failed Rites

Warning signs include treating a difficult transit or season as a sentence; staying awake for exact timing; using dangerous fire or fumes; interpreting every weather change as a personal omen; delaying urgent action for a planetary hour; believing an element is permanently unbalanced; repeating the rite until a dramatic sign appears; spending essential money on rare materials; copying a living cultural ceremony without context; or believing the ritual object cannot be dismantled.

When fear or compulsion appears, restore ordinary lighting, cover the central object, read the closure and mark the rite suspended.

Completion, Variants and Practical Boundaries

Astronomical conjunction is not the same as first visible crescent. The Full Moon may be a review rather than a culmination. Do not assume universal links with bodily cycles. A missed phase may be observed at the next practical time. The cycle closes at the Last Quarter or written end date.

Ritual Archive

Record the title, date, location, time zone, astronomical event or timing method, purpose, materials, correspondence source, exact actions, observations, practical action, review date and final status.

Separate observation from interpretation. “Sunrise occurred at 06: 42” is an observation. “The Sun approved the project” is an interpretation.

Use final statuses such as completed, partially completed, informative, no measurable result, suspended, dismantled or retired.

A closed rite is not reopened by later coincidence. New evidence may be appended without changing the original record.

Review and Closure

Review after seven days or at the next relevant phase. Ask whether timing was recorded accurately, whether the practical action occurred, what measurable change appeared, which impressions remained symbolic, whether the rite improved attention or created dependence, and whether every object returned to ordinary use.

At closure say:

The appointed observance is complete. Planet, element, season and symbol return to their proper scale. No temporary charge, command or obligation remains active.

Complete one ordinary action after closure: update the calendar, wash the bowl, return the stone, store the cards, close the window or file the record.

Source and Calendar Audit

Before closure, identify which elements came from astronomy, astrology, philosophy, historical ritual, later occultism or modern editorial design. Where a festival name is used, record the tradition and region rather than treating it as universal.

Environmental and Material Audit

Confirm that no rite caused unsafe exposure, excessive heat or cold, fire risk, smoke, environmental disturbance or waste. Seasonal objects should be reused, composted where appropriate or returned to ordinary use.

Non-Escalation Rule

Do not add stronger vows, additional planetary names, prolonged vigils or dangerous materials because the rite was quiet. A later observance requires a new cycle, purpose and record.

Ordinary-Life Seal

The practical action seals the rite more strongly than repeated ceremony.

Final Closure Verification

Verify that every calendar, card, bowl, stone, lamp, seasonal symbol and timing sheet is stored, cleaned or returned to ordinary use.

Say:

The observance is complete exactly as recorded. No planetary, elemental, solar, lunar or seasonal charge remains active beyond the practical action and written review.

Extended Editorial Notes

Planetary and seasonal ritual should increase awareness rather than dependence. Exact timing does not guarantee power, and a missed astronomical minute does not invalidate practical work.

Historical comparison requires restraint. Hellenistic astrology, Arabic astral magic, Renaissance correspondences, ceremonial elements and modern seasonal calendars remain distinct.

The measurable result remains primary. Completed tasks, repaired schedules, accurate records, seasonal preparation and balanced conduct provide stronger evidence than atmosphere.

The archive remains useful whether the rite is interpreted spiritually, psychologically, symbolically or through several causes at once.
