Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy is the defining Renaissance synthesis of magical theory. The first book examines natural virtues, elements, stones, plants and hidden sympathies. The second ascends into number, astrology, planetary images and celestial proportion. The third turns toward religion, angelic names, sacred rites and the ceremonial disciplines by which the magician approaches the invisible world. The Library record is based on the public-domain English translation published by James Freake in 1651. Agrippa repeatedly revised the work, and later editions often mix his text with additional material; the downloadable source must therefore be tied to a clearly identified historical edition.
