The Power Being Addressed

Andrealphus is approached as Sixty-fifth spirit of the Ars Goetia, a Great Marquis commanding twenty-nine legions.

Andrealphus is brilliant, proud and mathematically severe. He teaches geometry, astronomy and the liberal sciences and is associated with transforming people into birds.

Why the Rite Exists

The rite creates a controlled threshold between ordinary life and the domain attributed to Andrealphus. Preparation separates the practitioner from ordinary noise. The sigil and name establish the centre. The petition directs the encounter. The offering defines exchange. Dismissal restores the chamber to ordinary time.

A rite without preparation is only demand. A rite without closure is pressure without a boundary.

Personality and Ritual Conduct

Andrealphus is brilliant, proud and mathematically severe. He teaches geometry, astronomy and the liberal sciences and is associated with transforming people into birds.

The practitioner should enter with one clear purpose and avoid contradictory requests. The entity's rank and temperament determine the tone. Respect does not mean submission, and command does not mean theatrical aggression.

The Atmosphere of Manifestation

The room may fill with imagined peacock cries, bright iridescent flashes and a sense of angles becoming visible. The presence can feel beautiful, noisy and contemptuous before assuming a human form.

Manifestation may begin before any full figure is seen. Sound, temperature, dream, bodily pressure, altered flame, animal imagery or a complete inner sentence may mark the transition from preparation into contact.

The Rite: Full Ceremonial Sequence

The following material preserves the original SatanWorld article's ritual content without omitting its operative details.

Who is Andrealphus?

Andrealphus is the 65th spirit listed in the Ars Goetia, a grimoire from the 17th-century Lesser Key of Solomon. He appears as a noisy, peacock-like figure with a bright and clear voice, commanding 29 legions of spirits. His powers include teaching geometry, astronomy, and the liberal sciences; transforming men into birds; and granting invisibility or knowledge of all birds' languages. He is invoked for intellectual pursuits, transformation, or avian-related insights, but traditional texts warn of his trickery and the risks of demonic evocation, including possession, madness, or backlash if mishandled.

Preparation

Before attempting evocation, purify yourself and your space to align with Goetic traditions:

Fasting and Abstinence: Fast for 24-48 hours prior, abstaining from meat, alcohol, and sexual activity to heighten spiritual sensitivity.

Tools Required

A consecrated circle (drawn with chalk or flour on the ground, about 9 feet in diameter).

Protective triangle outside the circle for the spirit to appear in.

Black-handled knife (athame) for tracing boundaries.

Incense: Frankincense and myrrh.

Sigil of Andrealphus (a unique seal; draw it accurately from sources like the Ars Goetia—it resembles a peacock feather intertwined with geometric shapes).

Robes: White linen for purity.

Offerings: Herbs like peacock feathers, mirrors (for his vanity), or intellectual tokens like books on astronomy.

Timing: Perform at midnight on a Wednesday (associated with Mercury, fitting his scholarly nature) during a waxing moon for manifestation power.

Mental State: Meditate on your intent (e.g., "Teach me the secrets of the stars"). Banish doubts—fear invites danger.

The Ritual: Evocation of Andrealphus

Follow these steps precisely, based on Goetic protocols from the Lesser Key of Solomon. Speak commands firmly but respectfully.

Casting the Circle

Face east, holding your athame. Trace the circle clockwise while reciting the Preliminary Invocation (from the Heptameron or similar):

"I conjure thee, O Circle of Art, by the power of the Most High, that thou be a fortress against all spirits, that none may pass save by my will."

Within the circle, place a triangle pointing east. Draw Andrealphus's sigil in the triangle with red ink on virgin parchment.

Invocation

Light incense in the triangle. Stand in the circle, arms outstretched, and recite the Conjuration of the 65th Spirit (adapted from Ars Goetia):

"I do invocate and conjure thee, O Andrealphus, thou great and mighty Duke! By the power of the Most High, ADONAI, EL, ELOHIM, ELOHI, EHIEH, ASHER EHIEH, TETRAGRAMMATON, SHADDAI, and by the name of thy ruler, who is the King of the East; I do exorcise thee and command thee to appear before this circle in a fair and comely shape, without deformity or horror. Come thou peaceably, visibly, and affably, now and without delay, manifesting that which I desire. I conjure thee by the seal of thy obedience, which thou canst not deny. Appear! Teach me the arts of geometry and astronomy, transform as I command, and reveal the tongues of birds. By the power of the Black Scrying Glass and the Words of Truth, I bind thee!"

Repeat three times, growing in intensity. Visualize a peacock unfolding into a scholarly figure.

Appearance and Binding

Andrealphus may manifest as a peacock, a man with bird features, or astrally (visions, voices). If he appears hostile, reinforce with the License to Depart early.

Once visible, state your request clearly: "Andrealphus, by thy bond, grant me knowledge of [specific desire, e.g., 'the orbits of the planets']."

Offer a token (e.g., burn a feather) as pact seal. He may demand a vow of secrecy or future service—negotiate cautiously.

Dismissal

When done, command: "I thank thee, Andrealphus, for thy obedience. Depart in peace to thy abodes, harming none, and be thou ready for my call. By the power of ADONAI, go!"

Extinguish incense, erase the circle counterclockwise. Bury or burn remnants.

Potential Risks and Protections

Dangers: Andrealphus is said to be eloquent but deceptive, potentially leading to obsession with forbidden knowledge or physical ailments (e.g., feather-like rashes in folklore). Failed rituals risk "backlash" like nightmares or entity attachment.

Safeguards: Always use the Bornless Ritual beforehand for protection

"Thee I invoke, the Bornless One… Thou art Osorronophris, whom no man hath seen at any time. Thou art Iabas… Hear me, and make all spirits subject unto me…"

Aftercare: Journal experiences, ground with salt baths, and avoid the ritual for 9 months.

Ritual Architecture

Separation

Bathing, silence, fasting, abstinence, darkness or isolation signal that ordinary time has been left behind. The preparation should be coherent rather than assembled from random gestures.

Construction of the Chamber

Candles, incense, circle, salt, water, metals, herbs, stones and offerings organize the room around the office of Andrealphus. Each item should perform one function.

Establishing Contact

The sigil, name, chant or enn becomes the visual and verbal axis of the operation. Repetition narrows attention until the chamber feels organized around one intelligence.

The Petition

The petition should contain one principal request, one boundary and one completion condition. Ambiguous wishes invite expansion.

Recognition of Presence

The central phase begins when the atmosphere changes in a sustained way. Pressure, heat, cold, altered flame, internal speech, animal forms or dreamlike imagery may mark the crossing.

Offering and Exchange

The offering represents reciprocity. It may carry the entity's color, office, appetite or symbolic domain. A promise should never be made casually.

Dismissal and Return

The operation ends only when Andrealphus is thanked or dismissed according to the preserved method. Candles are extinguished safely, the chamber aired where appropriate and the result written before sleep or distraction changes memory.

Instruments and Their Symbolism

The sigil acts as the visual body of the name. The candle establishes color, rank and duration. Incense gives density to the air. Salt or the circle defines limits. Water reflects and carries emotional force. Metal, stone, herb or coin embodies office.

More objects do not automatically create more power. A crowded altar can divide attention.

Timing and Correspondence

Where several systems appear, one coherent system should govern the operation.

Manifestation Signs

Signs associated with Andrealphus include:

  • a sustained shift in the chamber's emotional pressure;
  • dreams repeating the spirit's form or office;
  • unusual candle movement without a matching draft;
  • sounds, smells or bodily sensations consistent with the entity;
  • a complete phrase arising inside thought;
  • external events beginning to mirror the petition;
  • fear, attraction or resistance intensifying at the moment of contact.

A repeated pattern across chamber, dream and aftermath carries greater weight than one isolated sign.

The Frightening Edge of the Rite

Andrealphus can make intellect theatrical. Precision becomes vanity, transformation becomes escape and beauty becomes a weapon against humility.

The deepest danger is transformation that feels useful. The practitioner may begin to imitate the spirit's temperament, organize life around the petition or interpret every event as part of the operation.

Failure Patterns

Failure appears when preparation is abandoned, the request changes repeatedly, symbols are mixed without purpose, panic replaces attention, impossible offerings are promised or the practitioner refuses to close because no dramatic apparition appeared.

Failure can also appear as excess success: the requested current enters ordinary life faster than expected.

Boundaries of the Petition

The petition should state what is requested, where the result may operate, what form the result may take and what event marks completion. Knowledge can destroy innocence. Protection can become isolation. Transformation can become instability. Treasure can become obsession.

The wording is therefore part of the danger.

Completion and Aftermath

The rite is complete when the petition has been spoken, the exchange acknowledged, the presence dismissed and the chamber returned to ordinary order.

Record the date, timing, preparation, tools, words, signs, dreams, first external movement, emotional changes and fulfillment of any promised offering.

The aftermath belongs to the rite. Results may arrive as opportunity, conflict, warning, sudden knowledge, disappearance of an obstacle or an intensification that reveals the true shape of the request.

The Inner Ordeal

The rite of Andrealphus is also an ordeal of resemblance. The chamber reveals where the spirit's office already exists inside the seeker's life.

The frightening moment is often recognition rather than apparition. The seeker discovers that the request has already shaped behavior before the first candle was lit.

The Return to Ordinary Life

After closure, eat, drink, wash, change clothing, step outside or speak with another person. These acts declare that ritual time has ended.

Do not repeat the operation immediately because silence feels uncomfortable.

Final Warning

Andrealphus can make intellect theatrical. Precision becomes vanity, transformation becomes escape and beauty becomes a weapon against humility.

Do not leave the altar active indefinitely. Do not continue chanting after dismissal. Do not add a second petition during closure.
